Celina trained with Moshe Feldenkrais at the campus of Hampshire College from 1980 to 1984. Moshe Feldenkrais, was a physicist who worked under
Frederic Joliot-Curie at the Radium Institute at Sorbonne University in France. Moshe focused his research in the realm of physics and martial arts. He became an
avid researcher of neurological function and gravitational impact on human movement.

His collective knowledge culminated in the development of the Feldenkrais Method®. Soon after Feldenkrais presented his work in Europe and the United States. Lessons of the Feldenkrais Method® build better body habits and bring to focus new dimensions of awareness, self-image, and human potential.
Moshe Feldenkrais was dedicated to the study of human movement and his
method provides a modern-day, practical program for the perennial ideal of a healthy mind in a healthy body.

Moshe taught month-long courses internationally, and conducted three teacher-training programs. The first was conducted in Israel for 12 practitioners and the
second in San Francisco to 65 practitioners. In 1980 Moshe was 76 years old when he chose Hampshire Collegeas the base for the third and last professional
certification program he would teach. In this training there was 235 participants. Moshe Feldenkrais died on July 1, 1984. Celina assisted Moshe with program logistics during the training. Moshe deeply influenced Cavalcanti’s understanding of human behavior and its role in healing the body. She graduated as practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method® in 1984.

She initally practiced the method in Brazil and taught at the University of Paraiba in the School of Physiotherapy. In 1989 Celina completed the translation from English to Portuguese the book “The Master Moves” by Moshe Feldenkrais . It was published in Brazil with the title “Life and Movement”.

Celina now resides in Santa Fe and has joined Vital Wellness Spa, where she teaches the method.
