The Dream I Had Last Night
When I first saw you in it, I felt good
Really good, so good I smiled
It was as if you were waiting for me
I entered into your realm expectedly
The warmth in your eyes was blue and round
On your lips appeared a white star of joy
You let me know that you wanted me there
Comfortable… is an understatement
As I toured into your being
The home, the children, the no longer partner
Your preferences highlighted with crispness
I got it: you are special, so good I smiled
There was, however, one complexity
Your bathroom, it looked outlandish
Pipes, boxy structures, hard metal surfaces
Unlike mine, softy, stony, neutral, warm
I sensed this is your inner works
Yet I know you are magnanimous
Dimensional in every way inside
Out there they even see you as evolved
I guess this entire internal compact
Represents your recent history, a milestone
So challenging the road you walked
Darn… now you move forward, learned
Back to the dream when I first saw you
Or rather, when you first saw me
Better yet, we saw one another
Magic, I became visible in your domain
You led around with familiarity
Eons of interaction between us
Naturally, perfectly present, in the now
Even the food you like was shown to me
The two small children and the woman
Their mother, so friendly, your inner family
The little boy said, “I love you” smiling
I felt smitten, utterly caught by surprise
Yes, this is another internal construct
Unhindered, authentic, available and functional
Perhaps the makings of a journey, side by side
What a great dream, and great way to meet
